what’s Wheat Starch Wastewater

Wheat starch wastewater is a high-concentration organic wastewater generated during wheat starch production, primarily originating from the supernatant in settling tanks and the yellow slurry after centrifugation.

Because this wastewater contains a large amount of organic matter (COD concentration typically as high as 7000-14000 mg/L), its discharge into water bodies causes microorganisms to rapidly decompose this organic matter, rapidly consuming dissolved oxygen and leading to the suffocation and death of aquatic organisms such as fish and shrimp due to oxygen depletion.

Simultaneously, the wastewater also contains high concentrations of suspended solids, ammonia nitrogen, total phosphorus, and other pollutants. Direct discharge will cause the water to become turbid and foul-smelling, leading to water quality deterioration and disrupting the balance of the entire aquatic ecosystem. Therefore, this type of wastewater cannot be discharged directly and usually requires wastewater treatment.

what’s PAM Flocculant

PAM flocculant is a water-soluble polymer commonly used in wastewater treatment. Its core function is to aggregate tiny suspended particles in water into larger clumps, accelerating sedimentation and clarifying the water.

Our company’s PAM flocculant has a very good effect on accelerating the solid-liquid separation of starch wastewater. Below are our experimental data on wastewater treatment.

PAM Flocculant For Wheat Starch Wastewater test data:

pH: 3–4
Add 1 mL of 5% caustic soda solution each.
Add 4.5 mL of 5% Plate-and-frame Filtrate Solution each.
Selected models:
0.1% HRFLOC C8040: Add 1.4 mL polyacrylamide to 30 mL wastewater
0.1% HRFLOC C8060: Add 1.4 mL polyacrylamide to 30 mL wastewater
0.1% HRFLOC C8038: Add 1.4 mL polyacrylamide to 30 mL wastewater
0.1% HRFLOC C8058: Add 1.6 mL polyacrylamide to 30 mL wastewater
0.1% HRFLOC C8070: Add 1.6 mL polyacrylamide to 30 mL wastewater
0.1% HRFLOC C8088: Add 1.4 mL polyacrylamide to 30 mL wastewater
Test results: Model HRFLOC C8040 requires low dosage with fast reaction. Model HRFLOC C8070 achieves the best treatment effect with an additional 0.2 mL reagent.
